Balancing a full-time marketing/ecommerce role with her nighttime art practice, Anika's whimsical works often depict animals portraying human emotions, blending the cute and unpredictable with underlying narratives inspired by animals, pop culture, fashion, and travel.

Anika Kirk is a published and exhibiting artist from The Gold Coast who has a passion for all things creative. She is inspired by animals, pop culture, fashion and travel. With a love for colour pencil she has focused heavily on this medium since 2013, enjoying working with pencil for the vastness of techniques and precision that is able to be achieved. She also enjoys working with acrylic and watercolour paint, enjoying these mediums for the fluidity and looseness in contrast with the structure of pencils. Working full time in a marketing/ecommerce role during the day and practicing her art by night, Anika enjoys to depict animals portraying human emotion in her illustrations and likes to mix the cute and unpredictable. Her whimsical works may appear pretty and colour filled at first glance, but take a closer look and be surprised by the underlying story behind her works.
